Body & Contouring
Overview
The masseter is a powerful muscle used in chewing. When it thickens due to clenching (bruxism) or genetic predisposition, the lower face takes on a square appearance. Masseter botox gradually reduces the volume of this muscle.
The treatment delivers both aesthetic and medical benefits: within 4–8 weeks the facial contour slims, while jaw pain, headaches and dental wear caused by clenching decrease markedly. The full effect can take up to two months to settle.

The treatment
After topical anaesthetic cream, the treatment is completed with ultra-fine insulin needles.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The dose targets the over-active portion of the muscle rather than the whole of it, so normal chewing function is preserved.
The first change appears around weeks 3–4, with a clear result by week 8. The effect becomes more lasting after a second session.
Excessive doses or overly frequent repetition can create a sense of volume loss in the cheeks, which is why your physician sets the intervals.
